Every time I get bit on the huddleston, more paint comes off. I was just wondering if anyone has any good ideas on how to touch up the paint? also, have you noticed any decrease in fish catching once the paint is messed up(lots of bare/white patches)?

I have three baits now, two ROF5's and the ROF16. The ROF16 is sweet, the paint doesn't have any problems at all. The first ROF5 I got is having some kind of paint problem. If you hold the bait in your hand to tie it on, the paint gets all over your hand. I got it from Tacklewarehouse and they are going to handle it for me. Ken stands behind his product, so if you got one that is peeling off and getting all mushy on the paint, talk to whoever you bought it from. No bait is bullet proof, and I expect a painted rubber bait to lose some paint on fish and whatever, but if it's just falling apart, then it's worth it to talk to the mfgr about getting it replaced. I have a feeling that bait will get bit with or without paint, since with paint missing it still looks a lot like a beat up, dying planter trout :)

I've got an ROF5 that I got from tacklewarehouse that does the same thing. Well kinda. I thought it was because I had it sitting on my livewell in the sun for about 4 hours. But even now after about 1 week, it still peels if I put pressure on it.

I'm not too worried. It gives it character. :P

Plastisol paint reacts with certain scents. If the paint is smearing than that is most likely the problem. If the paint is pealing than that is because when you thin it enough to be sprayed through an airbrush it also makes it dry real fast, so sometimes it doesnt bond to the bait. And when your painting as many as he is, you are bound to run into that problem.

The paint peeling is not suppose to happen just by rubbing or even scent. I have about 14 baits and haven't had that happen yet. Of course fish eating them will cause some paint to come off. I have caught approximately 49-50 fish on one bait and the paint is still in fair condition. But awhile back Ken at Huddleston sent out e-mails to all those who purchased direct from him saying that a recent batch of baits were having some paint peeling issues. If so just return the bait and he would send out a replacement. I tried to find the e-mail he sent but must have deleted it, sorry.
