So I got a lunker punker. haven't changed out the hooks yet. Sweet looking bait. Fishes pretty nice too when the hooks don't foul on the line . Threw it for a couple frustrating hrs today. Just about every cast the line would end up fouled on the front hook after walking the bait back a few feet. Any one else having this problem? This thing is gonna catch some fish if I can figure out how to get it back to the boat with out fouling the hooks. Help please.

Is it fouling when you cast? I notice that you need to cast it side arm style to get a nice flat cast out of it. If you are working it to crazy then it could foul I suppose. I haven't had any issues with it fouling when I work the bait. I also throw it on 80# Power Pro with 5-10 feet of 25# mono leader. Maybe this helps?

It wasn't really fouling to much on the cast. On the retrieve I wasn't reeling in the slack fast enough and the bait was pretty much running over the line and fouling the front hook. I have been practicing and am getting better and have had far less trouble. I still might try some braid but I'm trying to avoid it.
