#3556, "carbontex washers by smoooth drag"
Tue Mar-24-09 10:44 PM by curado

i just put carbontex drag washers on my reel. however, they sent me the wrong ones, so i ended up using carbontex drag washers meant for a curado 200b supperfree for my chronarch superfree. the smaller washer is exactly the same but the larger one for the chronarch has less surface area than the one on the curado.

i put the new washers meant for the curado into the chronarch any ways and it fits fine.

do you guys think this is okay? the way i see it, this might be even better than the correct washer set since it has more surface area. what do you think?

your opinions are appreciated. if you want pictures, let me know and i will post them so you can see what i mean.

thanks.

The Curado 200B, Curado 200BSF, Chronarch 100A and Chronarch 100SF all use the same drag washer. You should be fine unless the replacement washer you have has room to move inside the gear.

Do you go dry or grease your washers?

Is Cals the best or is there other grease that is just as good....

I use the Shimano drag grease on Shimano drag washers.

I think the Shimano grease is the best grease for Shimano reels. I don't think a company would spend lots of time and money to develop a lubricant for their reels and it not be good.
