#1326, "NO SWIM RAPTOR SWIMBAIT"

I just purchased a BRAND NEW raptor and my pool tests reveal it has no swiming action whatsoever(suprising when it's supposed to swim at the slowest of speeds), it's interesting because the joints have very slight "sticky" feeling and the only way it feels fluent is if I push the sections of the body together,I tried to figure it out but it just seems defective, has anyone else experienced problems with the raptor??? I remember rob saying that jerry could be contacted through him. Any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sid

You are not alone, my raptor is presently broken but is going to be replaced. My buddy has one though that will be swimming a long then all of a sudden all the action just stops. He's found the same thing, his joints are a little sticky and it seems like while its swimming the joint just decides to stick and it stops all of the action. The worst part is you can't always tell its done it so you ruin a lot of good casts. Its definetely a defect as mine swam great before the joint broke.

Heres the thing when I call TW they say I have to send the bait to jerry myself, but isn't there there responsability to send and aquire a new bait for me covering shipping fees etc. There customer service policy for defective baits pretty much states THEY detrmine product defect satus and THEY take care of sending a new bait. The guy on the phone says I have to send him the bait myself x( THIS BY THE WAY CONTRADICTS THE WRITTEN PROTOCAL ON THIER SITE. Super Matt your bait broke mine was delivered broken x( where did you buy yours and whos gooing to replace it?

I purchased mine at TW. Basically you can send it to them, they'll send it to Rago, he'll fix it, send it to them, then you get it back. OR you can email Conway Custom Rods (He's on this site) and he'll do it for you. I'm not sure what his relationship to Rago is but he'll get your bait repaired if you email him. He offered to fix mine immedietely, I just haven't had time to mail it to him yet. I was impressed with the customer service and I feel like I just got a faulty product, I.E. I still like the bait.

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how to fix these NO SWIM RAPTORS? do we need to return these to Jerry or Tacklewarehouse or is there a way to fix these at home?

I purchased two last week and one of them the tail broke in the third cast (which i guess is because how i cast baits?????) and the other one has no action, at first it did but after i kept casting it the action died, only when i jerk it and swim it fast does it swim right.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

JUANCHO

Jerry is aware of the tail problems and is currently putting on thicker tails on all of his new raptors. As far as the no swim raptor, I havent received anything from jerry that didnt swim perfectly right out of the package. Talk to Rich at Tackle Warehouse for their address and he will send it to Jerry to have it fixed or replaced. TW # 800-300-4916

Hey Sid, If the bait feels sticky it is because of the clear coat. The clear coat take a long time to dry and Jerry is making Raptors as fast as he can. He probably mailed it out a little sticky and that is what is causing the problem. email me and I will replace the bait for you.
