#2213, "Big Bass Possee Video"

Watched it today and enjoyed it. It's fast paced, punk rock, jumping around from frame to frame. There's a lot of big fish and it's real - not a bunch of re-hook garbage.

It's not instructional other than that you learn that Casitas fish like fast moving, erratic, surface running lures. But it is fun to watch. I yelled whoa at the TV at least a half dozen teams :)

I saw the trailer....

Definitely looked punk rock style. Those guys are legit though for sure, and no doubt getting some studs on film. Some of the bouncing of fish over the rails looks dangerous....dangerous to break a rod or lose a fish, but also because it looks like some of those guys are gonna have a swimbait embedded in their neck with those manuevers.

I give those guys props for putting that together. I haven't seen the whole video, but the trailer appears to be well done and entertaining. I appreciate the fact its not super "how-to". Just here is some entertainment, with the bigbaits.

Good stuff.

I just ordered it....One thing that hasn't been said about it yet, How long is it? Just wondering if you get 30min. for $27 or an hour? Also, I have seen posts saying it does have instructional qualities...but if that means watching someone AFTER they have hooked up, then I can't see that as instructional. Either way, the trailer does get ya pumped.

I still have the Swimbait episode of Bass Insider recorded, showing Rob and friends on Casitas... ;-)

The video is 40 minutes, and there is some bonus footage - probably another 10 minutes.

I don't care if people swing them, as long as I'm standing at the far opposite end of the boat :) I've been smacked by enough lures already in my life (cough Peters cough)

I just picked it up from Eric's Tackle in Ventura. He had about 20 copies on the counter. Nice DVD it is fast paced and well done. It will get you pumped up on swimbait fishing, it does not lack action. I thought that was an alternative rock, not punk, but things change and I by no means have my finger on the pulse of the music world.

does it have any pre strike footage at all? a majority of the preview looked like it was filmed after the hookup, but most likely that could have been done just for editing.

The way it's put together is kind of a jumbled mix of footage. Fish jumping, fish getting hooked, fish going in the boat. Fast forward action of fish being reeled in. There's not a lot of casting out, reeling it along and getting the bite footage, but I didn't get the impression that it was staged footage. I think they had a lot of footage to condense down so they just cut out the reeling parts.

There are quite a few cool shots of fish blowing and chasing topwaters. My favorite scene was when Shaun Bailey sees a chaser, drops his rod, grabs another one - fires out and gets the fish. The one where he gets bit while fixing his hat is funny too.

I figure some of these guys must read the forum so maybe they can give more info.

Saw it last night....With out a dout, it will get ya pumped. Looks like they fish Huds and Tripple Trout a lot, but what was the big top water plug? Looked like a Mag. Spook, but I think it was something else. Also, looked like it was all shot at Casitas too. That should increase the number of anglers at that lake...as if it needs that. Looks like there will be a series of these coming out.

for $27 a fun video, you aren't going to learn much about swimbait fishing from it, but it will sure make ya want to go chuck a swimbait....
The Marlin extra bit reminded me of Cabo ;( I want to go back...

Try peacock bass fishing on the Rio Negro in Brazil on the 100ft 3 story houseboat Discovery. Peacocks hit topwaters hard, my best was an 18 but my guide said the 1 that broke me off was at least 22. Damn I wanna go back!!!!!!!!!

Hahahahah Rob....I'm just seeing your post...I mean it was fluke! Of all baits you want to be hit with, its a fluke! Now that is a chuckle thinking about that.

I was damn glad you hit me with a fluke and not something else. All I got was shocked and surprised :)

Lake hit me in the head with a 5/8oz jig one time. It wrapped over the top of my head and cracked me above the ear. I had a headache the rest of the day. So lucky not to get hooked.

OK, watched the video last night.

First off, I want to say, those guys are cool dudes, and they are welcome to come over and hang out with me anytime down South. Rock on for putting that together and just doing it.

They are triple trout throwing fools, and there is definitely some how-to in that video, you just have to pay attention and watch closely.

Lot of big fish, and an amazing amount of topwater fishes. They straight get blown up. Great coverage of wolf packs following hooked fish too.

I'm going to watch it again and again and again here, but definitely worth the money and very entertaining. Those guys charge hard and are definitely on the program out there. Cool to see it all come together.
