Is this the same scrouger head that had been around many, many years ago?
I think the surf guys really like them.
What does that head do to the action of the bait?
Are you suppose to drag it along the bottom?

Sombody like Revenge baits needs to make these heads in a realy cool looking style. The rubber bill on the scrounger will make a soft plastis wobble. Kind of like an exagerated body wobble of a boot tail swimbait. You can use a grub or scampie or swimbait on them and they work well in the salt. I have never realy heard of anybody using them in fresh water but I am sure they do.

The heads will make the thing wobble side to side. I guess it could be described similar to a chatter bait but WAY more mellow. They do work in certain situations. Fluke trailers are good on the back of these baits. You will have to experiment on the bill size to get the correct action out of the trailer that you use.

They are absolutely kill Bonita too :)

I have heard some bad things about these compared to the original Scrounger heads. The bills do crack from sitting in your box. The material is slightly different than the original design. Keep an eye out for it before you tie one on. This has been after 6 months or so. I'm not saying it happens to all of them but I have a few friends that have experienced the problem.

I have some of the old school heads that still work after 15 years :)

Bassfan.com has a brief description of how Aaron uses the Scrounger heads:

Scrounger heads are old school. They were real popular down here at Castaic around the time I was born, late 80s and early 90s. Right before the stripers went big time. Great school bait. Guys mostly used them in the larger sizes with Sluggos or Flukes, single tail grubs too. Want to talk about Aaron bringing a bait back from his heyday at Castaic. I'm definitely going to give'em a try now. Fish haven't seen these baits in a long while... they should fish great. And I think the smaller sizes will be absolute dynamite on spotties.

Bass + Fisherman= BAASS ADDICTT!!!
