I threw this in the pool to see the action. It falls at the same speed as the ROF12 that you are used to. The action is different on the fall. It has this nice wiggle like the ROF 5 similar to a senko I guess you could say. It sits on the bottom nose down like the 8" ROF12/16. The tail kick is exactly like the 6" Huddleston.
This is not like a 3:16 Mission Fish. The bait fishes differently. I like to use the Mission Fish like a worm. This will be fished more like a traditional swimbait. I'm sure we will all figure out different ways to fish the bait.
The bait does like to rise up when you reel it in. I think this will be a great bait to run subsurface through heavy cover. The guys at Clear Lake will love this bait. I can't wait to get on the water with this bait and give it a true test. Currently work and a non operational trolling motor have me down.
I was told that the bait will begin shipping in a month or two. As far as I know there will only be a ROF12 to start with and non Phantom colors. The hook appears the be a special design for the bait and is not replaceable.

very nice - i wonder if hanging the bait (since the line tie is hidden) for extended periods of time will end up with a kinked nose? this will need to be hung to prevent tail warping...

I'm not sure. Its pretty deep in the nose so it could tweak the very tip of it I suppose. I am able to store swimbaits flat in my boat so I do not need to hang them. Time will tell I guess.
