#453, "New Bait - MS Slammer XX"

MS Slammer is pleased to announce a new member of the Slammer family. The MS Slammer XX. This double jointed bait has approximately 30% more action and 30% more noise than the standard MS Slammer. The MS Slammer XX will only be available directly from Mike Shaw and each bait is custom made to order.

All of the standard MS Slammer colors are available:
http://www.msslammer.com/colors.html

The MS Slammer XX is available in medium and large sizes. The medium bait is approximately 9 and 1/4" long. The large bait is approximately 11" long. The medium bait is approximately 3oz and the large bait is approximately 4.5oz. All weights and lengths are approximate because the lures are manufactured by hand from wood blanks.

The price of the medium lure is $59 and the large is $69. To order a bait please call Mike Shaw directly at 435-586-0853 or email mikeshaw@msslammer.com. Note that CA residents will not have to pay sales tax as all baits are now made in Utah.

I have not had the opportunity to fish these baits as they are brand spanking new so please hold off the questions for a few weeks :)

The baits look awesome....I kinda wondered awhile back why Mike did'nt make a double jointed bait, probably too busy with the regular style :7

I look forward to the full review, and hopefuly some good pics.

Yeah you pretty much guessed it. Mike is now making lures full time so he's able to branch out a little bit. He made double jointed plugs with bucktails a very long time ago but never sold them. The first time I ever met Mike at Margarita he had them in his bucket but I never could wheedle one out of him ;)

Basically people at that time weren't willing to pay would it would cost him to make two joint baits, so there was no point in making them available. With bait prices through the roof, he can get enough for them to make it worth while. I'm excited to check it out, especially as a night bait.

Mikes baits are always nice looking! Anyone doubting the price DON'T the MS SLAMMERS are really a moderately priced bait for something handmade! Opposed to something out of a mold that is a complete rip! It is much better for us to supposrt other fishermen rather than lucky craft or something anyhow!

ROB,
I made a lure similar to this it had a sort of snake like swim to it let us know what this one does.

Yeah, I saw those a few years ago. Mike's opinion was that they swam more like a healthier fish than the traditional injured action on the originals. And we all know that biggest fish prefer the healthiest bait!
