#1341, "alaska fishing??"

Hi all, I was just wondering if any of you can give me some info on your favorite places, guides, charters to fish in/near Anchorage, Alaska for salmon and halibut.

Thanks

try Homer its about a hour or so prop. plane ride away from anchorage
nice little town that caters to the hardcore fisherman. be sure to
research the boat or guide you go on before you plop down a deposit.
i was pretty disappointed at the boat that i chose. still knocked em
dead. also try to find a boat that targets a variety of different fish
you can limit out very quickly. when i went they were throwing back
30 and 40 pounders. got a 60, and a 75 the first day. also got 25clss
king. i went by myself and still had a blast. w.f.o most of the time
went in august a couple of years ago. there was this bar there called the salty dog pretty cool place also. had the most fun with the silvers. a little 7 or 8pndrs on lite gear is a blast. alaska is amazing.
