Last week I got myself a smaller Shimano reel. I broke my vow, and I hope it will be worth it. Got a Curado 200. So far it is not much different than my Abu's. So, I'll keep you guys up to date as I decide if they are worth twice what my Garcias cost.

Maybe cows wil be flying tomorrow,

Ed,
Good purchase. Curados are solid, I know a couple guys who use em for calicos and stuff, but I've only used mine for bass.

I have 4 curados they are killer reels. I don't know about saltwater fishing with them though. Could be a little rough on them. Would like to hear how it goes.

Rob,
I talked to calicohunter and he says they hold up fine, as long as you wash em down, just like you would any other reel. I saw Lance on the Stardust using one about a year ago too. Apparently they're up to the task, but I don't think I'll test mine in the salt...

Do it Brian. What's the worst that could happen, you have to send it back for a new one? One of the guys I work with uses his every day, all he does is rinse it and oil it every once in a while. He's even caught YT on it, and still has the original drags. This was what convinced me to at least try them. His has been used 5 days a week for at least a year. Quite the test I'd say.
