Im a begginer bass fisherman in Huntington beach. i was wondering where the best place to go around here for bass fishing. Also what to use(lures ect.)?

Aaron,

If you can afford it, the best bass fishing right now is at Lake Mission Viejo!!! It is a private lake but you can hire a guide to both teach you and get you on the lake to fish!!!!

Shawn knows LMV better then anyone, he has the big bass to prove it- this lake is amazing as far as 10-15 pound hawgs are concerned, it takes some finesse here, but learn from a good fisherman and you will be stoked! Lake Irvine is an underrated bass fishery, and Laguna Niguel has it's share of nice fish, also. You live in probably the best bass fishing in the country, take advantage of it! Good luck!

You don't want to overlook El Dorado park, just off the 605. There is a park called Ralph B. Clark park in Fullerton, just east of Beach Blvd on Malvern. This is a very very small lake but the bass are fed dfg stocked trout all winter and really benefit from this. My biggest ever came out of here. I'm gestimating on the lip scale at 8lbs. Patience and good technique are required here. Small 4" worms on light line or small jigs during prespawn.
