#17942, "BASS Post Season @ Norman"

Did you watch the online coverage today? I checked it off and on. BASS is doing a great job with the live action style coverage. Definitely above anything the other orgs are doing right now. Good stuff.

So I'm an Aaron fan and always enjoy see what he's doing. Watching today was just awful though. Aaron won this tournament, but because he wasn't allowed to weigh in early he had to throw back a bunch of big fish and take 3 dead fish penalties in the end.

BASS has always been the org that is all about sportsmanship, conservation, and upholding the integrity of the tournament. Watching today I was disappointed that they didn't allow him to weigh in early. They're conducting an event with 91 degree water temperatures and hot weather. There's no 6 hour rule in Alabama and these fish are just not doing well in the condition.

Sportsmanship says let Aaron weigh in at 9am like he wanted to. I know there's issues with getting the film crews and weigh stage ready for it, but it's the right thing to do from a sportsmanship standpoint. You don't get the thrill of the continuous weigh in but you know that the right thing was done for the bass. And you know the right guy who outfished the rest of the field won the first place prize. Today just felt wrong watching how that all went down.

I have to agree!! First of all the conservation of the fish should be #1 priority. I am about to leave for Lanier and the Forrest Wood Cup and Im worried about keeping my fish alive. That is if I catch any :-) . Anyways I also agree that BASS is doing a great job with the live coverage and getting the tv shows on asap. I just looked at the tv schedule for FLW and the Cup wont air til Oct. 10th. No live on the water coverage, nothing. They do not do a very good job with their coverage or the shows themselves. Anyways props tp BASS and ESPN for making the anglers more noticeable but shame on them for not putting the fish first. If Aaron wanted to weigh in early and end his day then, then by all means he should have been allowed to. About to hit the road for a very long cross country trip!! Wish me luck and look for a full story to come when I return :-)
