#18385, "Batteries"

Hi Folks, I am looking into getting a Bow Mounted 45lbs Thrust Trolling Motor for a Jon Boat. Any suggestions on types of battery and charger. The ones at Bass Pro seem over priced.
Thanks,
Jim

I have a jon boat also and I just got a deep cycle battery from Costco. I just got the Kirkland brand and the first one lasted over 6 years before it wouldn't hold a full charge. I just replaced it. The battery lasts a long weekend for me without requiring a recharge.

I use a Mincota on board charger that I picked up on clearance that does a good job. Before that I was dragging out a car battery charger to charge it and maintain it.

My suggestion is....

If your only gonna have one battery 12v system make sure youve got a good one.

Id suggest group 31 deep cycle deka or trojan would be my top choices.

Hey let that Bass go I wanna catch her some day
