#14745, "Drop Shot Question"

Hi everyone. I used to post here alot. Had some changes take place in my life that required me to spend lass time fishing so got away from the board but now that things are in order...I'm happy to be back!

I used to love Perchin in Oceanside with the carolina rig set up and enjoyed a great deal of success with it. I ran across an article about drop shot rigs in the surf. Anyone here use it? Is it more productive. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S.

I'll keep the surf reports coming from Oceanside. :)

Calfishing seems a bit slow the last few years...

Yes, I love drop shot in the surf. Have also used it to great success for flounder in Texas. You can use any old thing, but when I'm feeling rich I like Basstrix stuff, or Basstrix knock off stuff.

I've caught some nice Spotty Bay Bass in Oceanside Harbor on swim baits. Mostly Big Hammers and Fish Traps. When the water and weather warms a bit I'm planning on drop shot rigging there.
