#136, "Livewell Pump Question"

Since I started using those little battery powered kerosene pumps for my livewell I have gone through 5 already! Has anyone else had any problems with these? I am constantly having to buy new ones and it's a real bummer to have to spend so much money and juste have the pump fail, plus it really wastes my fishing time when I have to scoop water in by hand so my bass don't die. I actually have two pumps that seem to be running okay, but who knows when they might decide to fail. Anyone have any tips on maintenence or lubricating them and whatnot? Thanks

I don't think I am gonna camp cuz I live about 45min away from there and usually just drive up early in the morning. I have work all day on sat. so I probly wouldn't have time to get to the delta and all, but maybe we could meet up after the tourney or something. One thing I'd really like to set up on my kickboat is more storage space. My tackle bag is always in the way and it is just loose sitting on my pontoons so when I get rocked sometimes it falls off. Anyways, I guess I'll se you at the tournament on sunday. Oh yeah, I could also email you some digital pics of my boat if that would work..
See ya
Charlie

Castro,
To post a pic, you gotta click on that "click here to upload your file" link, toward the top of the window and then select the file and upload it. After that it'll give you a message with the location of the pic. You copy the location and paste it in your message.

A place in mountain view on El Camino across the street from Mountain View Army Surplus. The store is some sort of survival store, but I don't remember exactly what it is called, I think it is called the earthquake survival store or disaster preparedness store or something like that. Right now I don't think they have any cuz. David bought the last two, but the guys been getting people buying them alot now so he'll probly re-stock. Hope that helps.

I use a bilge pump that pumps 300 gpm and it runs on a 12volt motorcycle battery. The battery adds some weight to the boat but it not that big of a deal. I picked the pump up at west marine for $15 and the battery at kragen for $30.

I use a bilge pump that pumps 750gph (fish jacuzzi) it runs on a 12volt motorcycle battery. The battery adds some weight to the boat but it not that big of a deal. It could be a big deal if your livewell is full of 50 pounds of fish. + the weight of the water. (nm) I picked the pump up at west marine for $20 and the battery at Kragen for $40.

I guess I have nothing to worry about. 50 pounds of fish...HAR
