You can’t tell it from this shot but, I’m standing in about 2’ of chocolate milk and ivy. In fact, I spent most of the day standing in 2’ of brown water.

Sometimes you could actually see the bass(almost) and sometimes you had to just fish where you saw a swirl or a wake or a bush move.

Promised my grandma and grandpa some bass, if I was lucky enough to catch any,….I was.

Paul Sharman is one of my fishing heroes! He has a way with the fish. I can’t explain it. Plus, he never gets riled.

We’re going heavy duty LMB fishing today, possibly BIG bass fishing. I’ve got a bucket full of junk and 3 rods of varying strengths including SUPER HD with 25lb test. Paul puts 6 tiny purple Power worms in his pocket and grabs an 8lb test spinning rod and is ready to go. I asked, “Is that all your taking?” He said, “Yes” I said laughing, “Are you serious?” He said, “That’s all I need.”

We walked up to a little sandy creek and were about to wade across it. We saw a school of trout. Pretty weird that these trout would be in this tiny creek. They were just swimming in circles in this one little area. There were about 10-15 little trout. There was also one huge one and one medium one. The big one was pushing 4lbs? We stood there watching them and I was kinda wishing I had something to entice these fish. Although, I doubted they would bite as we stood there towering over them. Paul throws his purple Powerworm Texas rig in there and wiggles it. BAM! Fish on!! He hooked the big one!! UNBELIEVABLE! Unfortunately the fish came off during the fight, I was just amazed that he hooked it. Keep in mind these trout were basically at our feet and we weren’t hidden at all.

On the way back to the car, we of course fished, as we walked. I found and fished for some BIG bass. I suck and was unable to catch a fatty. The Sharmanator made it look easy, never even breaking a sweat.

Notice how the Purple powerworm isn’t in the picture. That’s a glow in the dark Yamamoto spider. I gave him a pack this morning when he came to my house,….Just in case…..

OI!
