I just returned from fishing Pudd and I can confirm that the
bass have definitely moved in to the recovery period of post
spawn. Fishing is slow but catches are possible. I fished with
some friends for three hours. I got bit once and the fish spit
my senko instantly. One of my friends caught about a 2lb fish
on a senko. I spoke with another friend who was there and he
was also fishing senkos. He managed to catch two bass in the
2lb range (all fish released). It's going to be tough for a
couple weeks. There are some fish which have already recovered
and possibly some finishing up their spawning. I believe the
vast majority are in recovery.

I don't think the raise in the water hurt the spawn in the
least bit. If anything the spawn benifited from it. It might
have made it harder to spot bedding fish from shore but it
also might have taken some pressure off the fish and allowed
them to spawn in peace. In the long run that may prove to be
much more of a benifit than a loss to shore fisherman and boat
Anglers.
