Members of this forum,

There is now a website for AB 2280, The Hatchery and Fish Planting Bill.

http://www.stormsource.org/ab2280/

Please check out the site for news on this important legislation.

This site was created by an angler who wanted to get the word out about this bill.

On the site you can email a letter of support for the bill. The email goes to Assemblyman Dave Cogdill (author of the bill), Governor Arnold Swartzenegger, and your own Assembly Person. You can also print out copies of the letter to distribute to other anglers.

The site contains a forum to discuss concerns and questions about the bill as well as links to the bill itself, the invitation for support and other links.

AB 2280 passed the first Assembly Committee vote and is now on the way to the Appropriations Committee.

The bill is being supported by United Anglers of Southern California, United Anglers Marine Resource and Conservation Program and the California Travel Industry Association.

Let's all help to save California's hatcheries...

On May 12th, AB 2280 will go before the Appropriations Committee in the California State Legislature. Assemblyman Dave Cogdill's office has reported that they have been receiving hundreds of petitions and letters of support.

If you have not yet sent in a letter of support, you can do so in less than a minute on the website. If you have sent in a letter or petition, have your friends or family members?

Anyone who fishes for trout, steelhead or salmon, either hatchery fish or even for native and wild fish will be affected by hatchery closures.

Please help to keep California's hatcheries operating.....
