Got the call. Have lures? Will travel. Did an AM pipe trip with Capt. Bill Schaefer. We fished from 7 to Noon. First cast. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo570.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo572.jpg Ride was smooth on the way down. Wind was blowing in the opposite direction as the strong tidal currents. Water was dark colored. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo571.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo582.jpg Fishing was pretty good immediately and progressively got better. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo578.jpg We caught over 40 nice fish in just a few short hours. Mostly sandbass, with a few calicos, and a couple rockfish mixed in. Funnest fishing trip I’ve been on in ages!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo585.jpg I gotta give Capt. Bill mad props. He can operate a fishing boat better than anyone I know. If you’ve ever considered hiring him for a guide trip, the answer is YES! The difference between a good skipper and a great skipper are worlds apart. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo588.jpg Boat positioning is crucial in this venues and Bill makes it look easy. With the boat drifting in just the right place, we were able to work that pipe harder than Lil Ceez….Holla. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo576.jpg Ain’t no ham like Burmingham. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo593.jpg This shot perfectly sums up our morning. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v388/fishtricks/PictureorVideo596.jpg
