Here's my additions...

Day one:
I ended day one w/ 6 or 7 calicos. 3 in the morning on the white zipper, plus one short. Then the evening bite I had 3 or 4 more, plus 5 or 6 shorts mostly on watermelon zippers and salt/pepper grubs. My brother who was also on the trip must of had 15 or 20 shorts throwing the Jerkit on a gold head. I had most of my fish that day on my 6# setup. Then my brother took over w/ the 6# and tied on the Jerkit, he started getting whacked left and right. It was actually a pretty good stop. People didn't believe me though when I said I was throwing 6#. Maybe I shoulda thrown the 20# too? Plus I had all those dumb rockfish in the afternoon. Also, had one micro calico on the Ziggy Jig after we had that huge dinner.

Day 2:
Just to set the record straight on the second day's rockfishing. I did fish the squid a bit, but it got boring quick. So then I tried the 3" white/smoke reaper for a bunch of taps but no takers. Then the Brush Hog in green and purple, no takers. Then the 3.5" white zipper for one small Starry. Then the brush hog again w/ Smelly Jelly squid for a dink. And finished the last drift throwing the green mackerel 3.25 oz.Ziggy Jig w/ 15# for another dink. 200'+ is actually not too bad for 15# w/ 3.25 oz. It gets down as quick as 12oz on 30#, and add a bit of fun to the "fight". My brother was probably the smart one though. He ate breakfast and sat in the sun while we "fought" the rockfish.

All in all, it was fun, but could have been better. Good crew, good boat, would do it bext week if I could afford it.

It will "pop" soon,
