2166, New Lo An albacore
Posted by , Mon Jun-04-01 05:01 PM
Took a one day on the New Lo An out of Point Loma.
The Yellowtail disappeared for the day but we managed to scrape almost one fish per rod average on the albacore. I came home with one (15 to 20 pounds). Love that fresh albacore.
The captain worked hard and the crew was quite good. Weather was nice for a spring trip.
They had medium sized chovies for the albacore and good 'dines for the yellows. I was using 15 lb line so I don't know if they were line shy or not.
Only 19 people on the boat which seemed very empty. Lots of room across it's massive stern.
If you have a day to spare, go man go.
