Short:
2 halibut...24" and 25"

Long:
Started out at 9:00 this morning looking for some kayak halibuts. Strong wind from the West made my brother-in-law and I a bit skeptical about launching...but we did it anyway. The wind died down quickly and the drift eventually became East to West, like it should.

Nothing for the first couple of hours tossing a variety of BigHammers, Kalin grubs and the Fast-Trac. Hooked up eventually with a p.o.'d Angel Shark...I could feel it suck in the bait (white Kalins) and then stick the bottom. I thought for sure this was my 30"+ halibut. Picked up a sort of rockfish and then paddled off to some distant kelp close to shore.

We tied off to the kelp about 30 yards from shore, about 10ft of water...looked very fishy with corridors of sand between the eel grass. First cast (white Kalins tipped with squid) blam! Nice 24" comes up. Two more casts later I'm on with a thick 25" 'but.

Time constraints forced us to leave them biting. As we were leaving, I spooked a few in about 5' of water.

go get 'em.
