Float tubing. Started off fishing on the West side of Stearn's Wharf with the 3 inch Big Hammer, Excalibur Long A, and 4 inch Big Hammer for nothing. Moved over to the East side and after about 15 minutes got nailed hard on the 3 inch 'Chovy colored Hammer. Very non-typical halibut strike as they are usually kind of soft or non-existent. Nice fight on 8 lb. turned out to be a legal fish at around 24 inches. Bryan joined me a little later and proceeded to get two shorts and I got another short. At around 7:00 we made our way to the harbor to try for some seabass.

With the rising tide and full moon it looked like perfect conditions for the seabass. Unfortunately there were also quite a few dogs hanging around. Most of them were harbor seals but there were one or two sea lions. We cast around for about an hour or so when Bryan casts around the shore side of the receiver and hooks up. His rod was shaking like crazy so I was pretty sure it was a seabass although I've never seen one come from that side of the receiver. After a nice fight on 10 lb. I boga his first legal seabass from the tube - a 30 incher. Despite the nice conditions that was the only seabass we saw.
