I fished the last tournament, and it was GREAT! If you fish the wall, want to have a great time, and some serious competition this is for you.

Yep, Eric does put on a cool friendly tourney. I fished the last one on the "WellFair" and ended up getting 2nd place. It was my First tourney ever. Lots of fun, cheap and theres people out there with you in case something happens. I like the live release part. Its cool to see that many calicos in one place and get to see them swim away....If Weather permits, i'll see you guys out there, P.S. I turned down a 3 dayer so I could make it....Warren

If somebody here has a saltwater worthy boat with a trolling motor for manuverability and has never fished the wall for calicos before but never has...I'd be more then happy to show what i know about it tomorrow night at Eric's tournament. I'll cover the team entrance fee. If anybody would like to fish this but does not have a parnter, I would like to rip some lips fri night.

Eric, thanks again for having the tourney. It was a pretty tough night. We did cull quite a few fish and I had to let a 3 pounder go because he wasen't doing too good in the "WellFair's" bait tank, once it hit the water it took off. We caught some toad sandies, cabezon, big fat sculpin that I bounced and almost stuck myself in the chest with, and lost one of the biggest Calicos I've seen in 6 years on the wall. I fought the fish for about a minute and a half on 25#, at first I thought for sure it was a Whitey but got it to the boat and Gabe grabbed the spotlight, pulled the trigger accidently while he was looking for the net. The fish saw the light, I saw the fish (almost scorched my shorts) and she jumped out of the water like a largemouth and shook the hook loose. I almost took 3/4 of an ounce of weedless lead and a spider grub to the melon when it came loose. Ended up with a little over 12lbs and the big one was 3?......I'm going to bed its 4 A.M and i'm beat......Warren P.S. don't forget to post up the date for the Newport "Spottie" tourney your having "can't wait"........

Warren, you guys did GREAT. It was a tuff night for some and only 4 out of 11 teams weighed limits. Your big fish was 3.6# and your total 5 fish weight was 12.5# beating the 2nd place team of Wallsout by .1#!!

The Newport Spottie Tournament is scheduled for Saturday 10/25.

Shoot me an email to jpweight@earthlink.net. I'd like to continue our conversation we started last night.

Congrats again, you guys were simply amazing out their.
