I have camped at the camp ground probably over 30 times over the last 10 years. I've always stayed at Washburn which is the upper primitive camping area with only runny water and out-houses. I always launch 15ft boat at Leffingwell Landing and fish from a couple miles south to about 10 miles north. I absolutely love fishing the shallow water Rockfish and occasional Salmon and Halibut. The next time I go up there, I'm going to try some surf fishing on some of the sandy beaches for Barred Surf Perch. I was going to go up there for Labor Day but opted to take my big boat down to the Hotel Coral in Ensenada MX for the holiday weekend. Hoping to hook into a Big Eye or big Yellowfin. Hope you have fun up at San Simeon and I look forward to your report when you return. HOOK-UP!!
