OK, well,…I was hoping to announce my anniversary and my new website with a big BANG!! And a spectacular fish report but, it just didn’t work out that that way. How do you make the fish Gods laugh?….tell them your plans. Anyway, I woke up on the good side of the grass this morning and I still live in San Diego so I shan’t complain too much.

Saturday- Hooked up with Lawman and Big Derel. We went to the islands on a boat with no name, it felt good to get out of my range. Got to the big island at grey light and Big Derel get’s first fish on a 5”swimbait.

And I’m always late for school cause your moms drives slow…Ooooooooooh.

A short time later I hooked up on a green TJW.

Then Big Derel’s twin brother Andy borrowed his clothing and caught this nice whitefish on a natural colored 5” swimbait(Big Hammer I think) Pretty cool fish. I ate that mug for supper.

Unfortunately, those were the only decent fish for the whole day. Lawman has a yellowtail tournament coming up so we headed off onto the big briny. That endeavor proved to be fruitless. A few more stops on the kelp and in the bay before going home were also all but fruitless. I think I got 2 fish. I think BD got 3, and Lawman got blanked. Called it quits at 1pm.

Sunday- Determined to show off my new products. I launched my boat at 8:30am (with no outboard) and went on a trolling motor only mission on SD bay. My goal was to limit out on halibut using only my spinnerbaits. Weeeeellllll, Taking advantage of the tide, I finally got to my hali spot. I anchored up in 25’ of water off of N.Island and commenced to angling. Just as I was starting to get acclimated to the spot and get into “Hali mode” the Navy guys kicked me out of there. !@#$%^&*()!! Slow day for them I guess.

I was bummed. I anchored up where I had seen a friend of mine post her boat for halis before. Again, I settle into the spot and catch a few bass. I know that halis are coming soon. Then….Guess who? It’s the Navy guys again This is ridiculous, I am no where near the island now. I didn’t even give them a chance to approach me. I pull the pick and drove off on my TM with them following me. At this point I just said “Screw it, this weekend’s over” and went home.

Since there’s no Sunday pics, I’ll give you 2 albums;

Thanks to everyone who supported the TJW project in the first year. I can’t wait to see what we catch this year. OI!

Wow....sounds like fun! Nice bass! Those ones got some size on them!

I was snorkeling in La Jolla, little past the "No fishing" area. Saw a HUGE bait ball of chovies....TONS of huge bass where slamming them. One of the bass had to be 9 pounds! Man i was pissed that i didnt have my rod ;(
