14299, Day 2 (sorta)

Woke up with a bad headache. Kept repeating to myself while getting ready this morning “Don’t forget to take aspirin, don’t forget to take aspirin”…..I forgot to take aspirin.

Had planned on going back to the kelpy nation from 6-Noon. Got to the ramp at 6am and the wind was screaming. Can’t go outside in with a cracked boat on a windy nappy day.

Met the boys and we hung out for a long while waiting for the wind to mellow out. Never happened. Can’t go outside and can’t even fish the jetties without a trolling motor. At this point, I left it up to the other guys,…do you want to call it off, or do you want to drift for sandies? Which was really our only option, we didn’t bring any dink gear. I had a headache and really didn’t care anyway.

We opted to launch.

Someone has accused Big Derel of not being able to last a minute in the hood. In this shot he challenges that notion.

We did surprisingly good considering how little effort we put forth.

We spent way more energy gossiping than fishing and we only fished for a couple hours. The spinnerbait sandbass bite is still alive and well in SD bay. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have some pictures from the outside.
