14725, Crew trip on the Calico Hunter

Hopped a ride with Larry on Saturday out to the backside of Santa Cruz to look for some bazz. Brought my pops along for a little prefathers day fishin. Larry's 23 Hydra Sports Vector made short work of the run from Channel Islands harbor, especially now that he has his new MONSTER 350 HP Yamaha. That thing has sick power.

Had an awsome porpoise show mid channel with over 100 animals doing full body leaps around and alongside the boat.

We battled the winds a bit and bounced around looking for the right conditions. We had a good pick on bass with a couple of flurries and some fish coming up with multiple followers. Hot baits were Big Hammers in 6.5 inch, 4 inch and Larry whacked a few on the 3 inch. Hot colors were Hot Karl, Clear Red, Sexy Smelt and Strawberry.

Anyone out there that wants to go fish some sick boiler calicos should call Larry. I think he has a trip or two still open in July.

Here is my dad with the big fish of the day. A chunky 5.5 pound Calico that he caught on a 6.5 inch Hot Karl.
