14798, Where's the halibut
Posted by swimbait, Wed May-12-10 10:02 AM
It's getting to be that time of year. Wish I could get out to Goleta in my tube :) Too bad it's 300 miles away. I heard the wookie is going to actually fish this year. Any updates?

I heard there has been a few caught before this latest wind blew in a bunch of cold water. Waitin for the water to warm back up to get out on the yak.

Dont know if you get out to oyster point much but the hali bite has been on since last month and only getting better. Even shore fisherman(genentech) has been scoring on the daily .

I can't find um! I've fished Goleta a bunch and haven't even come close to a halibut bite! The water temp has been bouncing all around. The structure has been exposed and then covered up by sand at least 5 times so far this halibut season. It's been a funky up and down year. Hopefully when this wind quits we will see some flat fish!

They are MIA! Although about a month ago, I caught 2 dinks in the G bay. I'm gonna try some new spots around town this week.
