Greetings to all local Fishermen!

I went surfing off the shore in Huntington Beach and had a great time. Lot's of Corbina and Perch. Bait was hard to find, it seemed that the crabs were down deep. Excelent day of fishing. Any tips on how to catch halibut or sharks from the shore?

Thanks,

KK

Hello Aaron,

Try fishing 1 hour before high tide and 1 hour after high tide. Use 8 lb test with a small bait hook. Bring two poles, one with a 1 ounce weight for casting ove the breakers. The other pole have a 1/4 weight for fishing close to shore.

Look for an area with a lot of sandcrabs in the sand and look for a trough where the fish can gather. I catch most of the big Corbina in shallow water and the Perch in deeper water.

Best of luck to you and let me know how you do.
