3311, Possible Calfishing Tuna mini-Charter??
Posted by Moondoggie, Fri Sep-14-01 04:08 AM
Hey guys,

Is there some interest in going up there and fishing as a group? How many would want to go?

What day is best?

Let me know a tentative head count and I will try to put together a little trip. How about in about a week and a half, so we can plan with weather/fish/girlfriends/wives/work/school?

If you have never fished a tuna boat, now is the time. I will be more than happy to help out any newbies.

I'm there. Weekends are best for me. I can take a day off work during the week, just need to know about a week in advance.

I'm down for sure...jonesing for some good action. You thinking about going up north......6pack style or just getting guys together on an open party boat? Either way I would love to go. Shoot me an email as soon as you get some details crazyfishguy1@hotmail.com or casey@push.com. I can usually get a day off during the week without a problem. I just need a few days notice to let my work know I will be gone.

How does the 27th sound? I will call the landing and find out about availability if I can get at least 5 guys to go.

We would go out of Port San Luis on the Pacific Horizon. Cost would be $145 we would leave at 11:00 the night before and fish all day.

Who is in? We will watch the weather and the counts and make the decision to go on the monday or tuesday preceeding the trip.

The Pacific Horizon is a great boat to fish, is wide and has lots of room to fish, both at the bow and the stern. The crew is super helpful, the food YUMMY!

This would be a good trip for someone who is new to fishing tuna. Even if you don't have any gear or experience, I can help out.

Count me in. I will let work know today that there is the possibility of this trip. I dont' see any problems. Only thing I'm worried about is that there seem to be a lot of smaller fish coming in right now. Lets hope the slugs come through by next week. Whatever...can't complain about catching albacore of any size...I'll just bring the lighter rod.....

Unfortunatly, I will not be able to put together a trip this week. I have had a few things come up at work and will not be able to get away.

I will be in Mexico from OCT 6-13, so possible the following weeks after that, I will be able to organize a trip.

From what I hear, the fish are between 80-100 miles out, and still pretty small. Lets try to get a killer trip with a bunch of us on it when the bigger fish come in closer so we can have max fishing time on the big ones.........
