3372, Santa Barbara options? Posted by fongster, Fri Sep-21-01 06:56 AM
Hey all you SB locals--I'm up there on thurs nite 11/1 and can fish on friday 11/2 and was wondering what my best options are: Stardust trip, float tubing, drag my Gregor up there? I'm mostly into swimbait fishing so let me know some ideas and if you want to hook up mention that too.

It's been pretty windy lately. I think Jason's mostly fishing for rockfish. If I were you I'd probably float tube either the harbor, by the base of the wharf or Goleta beach for halibut. -Brian

East Goleta Beach is very dirty since they just dredged the slough. It usually sucks for a couple weeks after they do that. I haven't been to West Goleta Beach (cove) for a while so I don't know.
I surf fished near Stearn's Wharf this morning and got 3 halibut on swimbaits (one 24" - all released). The water was very clear and there was a lot of bait around. I fished for 2 hours. Float tubing just beyond the waves and casting up to the beach from the harbor down past Stearn's Wharf with light swimbaits or jerkbaits should produce.
