Thanks for responding to my question. I took some great information away from what you wrote about swimbait type vs. water visibility. Like most reservoirs in SoCal the one I fish is very clear.

I’m very analytical in nature and as you can tell I sometimes have a habit, good or bad of “over analyzing” a spots. Most of the time I don’t fish the spot until I have graphed, AquaVu’ed and documented it numerous times. Then I’ll return on another day to actually fish it.

As for this spot, I was lucky enough to have found it in a really obscure area of the lake during severely low water levels. I have since keep a close eye on it. It’s highly over looked, and most times I go by it there’s no one in the area. I have always graphed fish on the spot and like many of the other prime looking spots I found during that time I fish them mostly during the week and very infrequently as to not bring any attention to them. Particularly when I know there’s a tournament going on. My tactics so far have been to approach the spot quietly, make three or four cast and then leave.

I took a great deal of time last year during my fishing to “Information gather”. Some of the days it seems I did more AquaVu’ing then I did fishing (it’s highly addicting :-) ). Now that I feel I have the intel and the water levels are well at capacity. It’s time to get to it.

I should be checking in with the board from time to time asking more questions, sharing information and hopefully posting some great pictures.

Thank you again Rob.
