Well after my adventure to BWW yesterday I just had to go and try my new rod and reel, along with my new baits. On the water bout seven with my dad, nice morning although somewhat cool. My dad started off throwing a topwater along with a spinner bait, I was throwing two colors of the new Rago swimbait, a 9 inch stocker trout that I bought, and a new medium MS slammer that I bought... no love on any of it. My dad decided to troll for trout so we did that for a few hours and caught 3, lost bout 7 and had many more hits.. we left at 2. From the mouth of Scow Canyon to the first floating bathroom towards the launch ramp there were lots of "candy bar' trout surfacing...and coincidently is where we were getting our fish/hits.

On a side note... I love my Rogue 808 swimbait rod with the calcutta 400 reel... VERY NICE!! Throw all the swimbait/big baits with ease and no worry about the rod. The stocker trout looks great but i can see why it would be hard to hook fish... the rago baits are unreal... definately gonna be buying the bigger size when they come out.... and the new Slammer is differnt then my old one, definately not as bouyant but we'll see if it's a fish catcher..
