4792, smell of a lure
Posted by Yellowbass, Mon Jun-21-04 05:36 AM
After going on a month long fishing trip. During this time me and my friends saw state record Smallmouth, Spotted, and largemouth bass. They would follow my rago rat and nose up swallow bite, nip, tail wack everything but actually putting them in the boat. I came up with an idea of spraying it heavily with scent. We only did the last couple days and it worked extremely well. Im telling you right now that scent makes a world of a difference. Just my 2 cents.

What scent were you using or do you recommend? Were your lures brand new or barely used, do you think that can make a difference in the smell/ odor it puts off and the effect on the fish?

Thanks...Trever

I've got the Rago Mouse and I rub Megastrike attractant all over it. I've only thrown it a few times and have had no takers but M/S works on other baits for me. It is a 'grease' so it stays on hardbaits a long time.

I've heard lot's of positive things about MS and recently picked up a tube to try myself. Should help to mask the plastic smell on rubber baits and make it a little better on the hooksets.

I can't get it locally so I order it here:

Don't let the cost scare you off as a tube last's a loooooong time.
