2725, How'd it go Team BnT?

LAST EDITED ON May-12-01 AT 03:56 PM (PST)

D'ja slay 'em?

My trip to Spring was fun. I caught 10. Mostly rippin' Pointer Minnows plus a couple flippin' Senkos. They were all 2 pounds or less though. Any fish capable of spawning seems to be in the post spawn blues. Give it a couple weeks and they'll show up again.

The lake has been sprayed and a good 70% of the grass is gone, dead or dieing. If the grass is green it'll hold fish. If it ain't, don't bother casting.

Just got back. We took 5th with 17.78lb limit. Pretty much same story as last time. Senkos and cranks.
We are now tied for first in the WONdering region :-) If I understand the rules correctly, and no one else beats us before June 1, we should be the winners based on total weight for the season. Our weight for our best 6 tournaments ( one throw out ) is 115.52lbs which I think will be tough to beat. Just for kicks I figured out our average weight per fish for our 7 tourneys and it was 3.59 pounds. Don't you just love Clear lake and the Delta :-)

Here's a good side story for you. John dropped me off at my house after the tourney. He drives home and about 5 blocks from his house his tire, which had been leaking and was mostly bald, blows out on his boat trailer! Luckily it was dual axel and he was able to just drive it home. What luck!!!

Now that's worth some NCBF trash talkin'.(I'll leave that to you guys) A 3.59 average per fish! Clear Lake & the Delta just can't be beat. Congrats to both of you.

And lets put an end to these post tourney travel mishaps! Ugh. Glad it was on a dual axle. I think I told you about losing an trailer tire & rim on a trip to the John Day River when I was 17 or so. It rolled right by us on the freeway. Yahooo it sucked.

I dont know about trash talk,n my nutcase freind @ ncbf.I do know tubers can fish just not all can afford a 30K+ boat. I am pumped by our year, and had a whole lot of fun, damn we didnt prefish a single event. We just picked a area and picked it appart like a tuber has to do.We had a blast!

I hear ya. I always figured it was just fun & games but I guess some guys either take it personally or as a challenge and get a little extra motivated to beat the snot outta ya.

Pre-fishin' has rarely done me any good. I usually end up fetchin' instead of fishin' when tourney time comes around and I get smoked cuz the fish aren't doing the same thing.
The approach of pickin apart an area instead of running & gunning was cool. To me, boaters always seem to be moving way to fast with their trolling motors. Limits can be caught without hardly moving the boat and some guys only manage a single cast in an area as they zip on by.

It's Mother's Day so I'm off to pay mine a visit.

Hey Swampy, they were probably all hiding from the wind in Middle River but I am suprised as heck they got in there over the barrier. It was windy and the San Joaquin was not lookin' pretty all day. That's cool you hooked up in there though. 11 fish is a good day. I'm looking forward to our middle river tourney in June already!

If you guys want to read how we did it on Saturday I wrote up the report at the link below.
