The SCBBBC President (William) just called. The Sonoma County Regional Parks Department really blew it! x( x( x(

Our club (William) was issued a permit for the tournament. He recently called for the gate combination and was told there was another event planned and permitted before us - thus no more permit - no combination to the gate. x( x( x(

So, THE SUNDAY AUGUST 14th SPRING LAKE SCBBBC EVENT IS CANCELED! x( x(

PLAN:

1. Officially - The SCBBBC will be holding an emergency meeting next Wednesday August 17th at 7:00 PM at the Round Table Pizza to schedule another date, next weekend, the weekend after or something like that! Cool, two Pizza Allowances in one month. :P

(Unofficially - were are we all going this weekend now? Turkey Shoot anyone?)

Gate will not be open till 7:00 am, and your gonna make them real happy with us if bunches show up, fish, then weight in togehter as a group. Kind of sounds like a Tournament dosen't it? Just my six cents.

I just talked to Deren and we`re going to try to get a fountain grove turkey shoot going for sunday.Meeting up at the same time and weighing in the same as planned for spring lake.Him or I will be checking to see if the combo I have for the gate is still valid that way we can just drive our kickboats down to the water.If your interested in participating make a post or maybe we should do a seperate thread?

That sucks, I have a lot of stuff going on and I was looking forward to it. Anyway, the last two weekend in August is out of the question for me. I know for sure August 20-21 is out. August 26 weekend is my wifes birthday. So as you can see I'm all booked up. I vote for the first week of September. I can't make it to the meeting but I vote for the first week in September.

from the last time i tried to combo at Fountaingrove a few weeks ago it was changed! i dont know what happened because i hadnt been there in a while, but someone did something or something happened and the combo was changed.

Dont forget the 20th is the BNT Rancho night event. I know there is a handful of guys that want to fish both.

I think you are right. As I have set up my schedule for fishing tournaments in January and worked around that till the Spring Lake cancelation I think we should write it off the books for the year. Move on and hit Highland Springs next month on schedule with one less body of water and set of points for the year. Will that work?

How does that effect things? How would BASS Rules cover something like this, where say, an act of god canceled an event? Do they reschedule or write it off and move on to the next one, in the schedule, probably loving the couple of days off to sleep anyways? :)

Labor day weekend is not to good for me. I'm open for other suggestions.

How about the 21st of this month. That works for me. We can't just scratch this tourney all together. No matter what, some folks won't be able to make one date or another. Maybe they could use a through-out. Just my 2 cents. Im down for what ever day after this Sunday.

I`m sure it will all be worked out at the meeting on the 17th.Keep in mind that there are a few guys who plan on fishing the rancho seco tourney with b-n-t in a night tourney on the 20th.

I'm with the guys who think we should cancel all together. Many of us don't have flexibility in our schedules for a new tournament date and how would it be fair to punish the people who's schedules are already booked?

The most fair thing, in my book, is to cancel this tournament for the month as it does not hurt anybody in the standings. One less tournament, no big deal.

Thats your opinion,it sounds to me ya better show up to the meeting because I dont see it that way at all.If I was within a point or 2 from the top,sure the less tourneys the better but if I had some catching up to do(which I do)the more tourneys the better.

Sure would like to see if the Spring lake tournament is made up on another date for it not to conflict with BNT's Rancho night tourney.

Can someone at the meeting please take this simple request to heart.

I'm not sure if this is a viable solution.

If we re-schedule the tournament and vote on the date. For those individuals who can make it, we can let it count for their points. But for those individuals who can't. Instead of giving them a zero and basically a throwout, we won't count it as a throwout. It would still give people the opportunity get needed points, while not affecting those who can't participate.

Exactly... For those who can't fish the tournament, they will be given that tournament as a throwout also, basically 3 throwouts in the season. Just another option to think about.

That sounds good to me Dave. Im down for another through-out The canceling the tourney all together isn't fair for the guys trying to make up a few points. If I was sitting in the top three spots I would be all for passing this tourney up as I could just skate along and stay in the top three. I am sitting in some thing like 10th place and I planned on ending up in # 1. Regardless to what we do, Im happy to just be fishing with every one when we do get on the water. Spring Lake or no Spring Lake. Sorry B-N-T guys when I made my wish for this coming weekend I didn't know about your tourney coming up.

I do think that now its time to add a new rule next year. That if for what ever reason we can't have a tourney on a planned date that we move it forward to the following weekend and on the same planned day regaurdless as to who can show or not. Just my 3 cents.

how about this? skip august for now. i believe there is a free weekend or 2 after the last tournie,& before the t.o.c. lets just have a makeup tournie at the end of the season. that gives everyone plenty of time to make whatever arrangements necessary to be there. and to keep it fair lets have it at springlake...... we cant go a full season without seeing spring at least once...... just my 49 cents. :+

Hmm, I would be more open to a makeup tournament on one of the weekends before the last regular season tournament. There are the weekends of Oct 15-16th, 22-23rd, 29-30. Our last tournament is for Nov 5th and TOC is the 19-20th (so only one weekend open before the TOC).

Also, if we chose that route I like Dave's idea of making it something more of an optional tournament unless everyone could show.

Well if the tourney was held this last Saturday you guys would have seen some fat sacks from spring lake. Bill had a limit for around 22 pounds (sorry bill I forgot to hit the store button after I took your picture) Darren, Phil and Scott all had fat sacks also! Spring Lake is on FIRE! :P
