I need something to organize my plano boxes in the front center compartment on my Champ 198. What is the best product for this? If it could take a bunch of regular height boxes (2 inch) and a couple swimbait style box (3 inch) that would be ideal.

My buddy has these boat bags in his boat that he bought from Bass Pro. They keep all your Plano boxes together and make them easy to remove from your boat if you need to fish out of another boat or if you are staying overnight in a a hotel and don't want to worry about your tackle getting stolen. He added Velcro to the bottom of the bags ann inside his compartment to help keep them in place.

Cool. I like the price too. I'd kind of like to have something that separates the individual boxes within the bag/case. For the situations where you don't have the whole thing full, and so that I can set it up on it's side on a shelf and pull the boxes out easily. I know, picky picky.

Looked around more online. Basscat and Ranger make some interesting setups.

I wonder if the basscat one is removable?

Look at a office supply store for binder holders/file organizers, they look very much like the bass cat organizer. I have read of guys using them but I could not find the forum thread over on Bass Boat Central.

That's a good idea... I trolled around on office depot's website and they have some stuff that is close.

The size isn't quite right unfortunately, and the price is more than Basscat wants.

I'm leaning toward those Basscat boxes, just wondering how they mount in to the boat. Like if they are loose or if you screw them them in. I'll find out and post when I do.

John - I wound up just stacking up 15 boxes on their end for my last trip and it worked ok. If it was rough I could see things getting banged up, but the boxes stand up fine on their own.

I'm leaning toward your first idea with the BPS soft-side bags, just to make taking the boxes in and out easier. Thanks for the tip :)

C'mon, it took 8lbs to win that rookie tourney last weekend. That's good fishing right?

We're going to fish ABA Motherlode this year. First one is Pedro this Saturday. Maybe we can make snow men after the tourney.
