#12624, " "8-14 Ens. YFT/Albie lmts to 45 lbs.-pics""

My brother Mike headed down to visit the boat/party with some friends in Ensenada on thurs. He wasn't planning on fishing & I was to busy to take off so my father & I just planned on hitting the SM Bay on sat. Until I got the call from Mike thurs. night "WFO Big Albies". Friday night around 7:30 My Father Steve, his business partner Ken & I were on the road southbound arriving around midnight. We loaded the boat, crashed for about an hr. & were heading to Mikes for bait before 3:AM. We got to our #'s 40 miles south right @ grey light with the first jigstrike coming about 15 minutes later, a single on the Bk/Prpl Yozuri. The fish came up boiling big time with each of us hooking baitfish but My father & Ken were breaking these big fish off left & right.

This routine repeated itself repeatedly with some fun chaotic moments to plunker bites that would last an hr. or so. The combination of massive amounts of fish lost & the length of time it took to land each fish we weren't limited out until around 10:30 or so.

Not before we had a quad on football yft that came up on the chum heavily & eating the hookbaits but moved off quick. My father even managed to break off one of these little guys on 25 lb. line? I think they may have got a bad batch of line, as they had just spooled up those reels?

I caught my first swimbait tuna of the year using a 5" Big Hammer - Black Diamond on a 1.5 oz Hammer Head:

Good Times once again!
