Aaron-
I don't know too much about surf fishing Manhatten beach since Im from San Diego, but my girlfreind lives there so everytime Im in town and bored I fish the Jetty around King Harbor. A lot of croaker and some pretty decent Barred surf perch. The spots really no secret there always a gang of other people there. Also If you want perch, inside the harbor I always see a ton of big Sargo, and if you throw small swim baits or grubs there is a ton of small halibut and sandies around the dock pilings. But if your in for the eatin fish that probally would nt be the best place. Hope I didnt tell you something you already know. good luck! Catch n' release.

yes. Perch, barred and walleyes, corbina, and yellowfin croakers, halibut, and stripers on occasion. take 110 to 405 north, get off at Rosecrans, turn left (west) and drive until you hit the beach. Turn left (south), and look for low spot in waves, and fish there!

Yes, I used to live down there. My favorite place to fish used to be the jetty directly in front of the Edison plant in El Segundo. You can either park in the lot at the end of El Segundo Blvd. and walk south along the bikepath or else park at 42nd street in Manhattan and walk North. Anyway, it was always best at high tide. Go out and fish next to the fence (don't go past the fence or they will bust you.) I have caught numerous corbina, barred perch, opaleye etc. I haven't fished there in awhile though. We used to fish with 1-2/0 hooks with squid chunks and catch pretty good size shark (up to 15 lbs.)
