I recieved some grubs and other plastics which totally wreak of plastisol. Their are some great colors and stuff so I don't want to get rid of them, but right now they smell too bad to use. How do you get the scent off without replacing it with an equally bad scent?
Tight lines,
Wade

Wade, try coating them with something like Bang. Then stick them in the microwave for about 15 seconds. All mics are different so put a couple in and test 1st.

Let them cool and then repeat. Plastisol is very pourous when it gets warm. It will soak up the scent. You could even throw some salt on them when you take out.

Thanks! I'll give that a try. I've already tried coating them once, washing with a "Scent-free" detergent which left a smell that the fish didn't seem to like, and washing them with baking soda.
What do you do to your hand-pours if I may ask?

None of the above :P

I use a premium plastisol for my handpours. There are several manufacturers of plastisol for worms. But, there are only 3 that are worth spending any money on.

There are some large commercial companies that use 3G plastisol. They use it because it's the cheapest. Especially when you buy by the 55 Gal drum. It also has the worst properties, especailly the smell!!!!

I don't have to add anything to my plastic when I cook it. I do add a mild scent to each bag before I ship them out. The scent they pick up out of the bag is to help mask any smells on your hand. But it's not overpowering. So if you still want to add your own scent you can. I use 'Tournament Pro' from Lurecraft Ind. It's like a garlic/crawdad mix.
