What's up guys!! Just bought a Pflueger Trion baitcaster reel and need help buying a good rod for it.
I will use it for bass fishing its a 4.3:1 gear ratio which I didn't know until after I bought it. So I will use it for crankbaits and maybe topwater lures. I was wonder what would be a good rod for this reel. And with that gear ratio what are the best uses for this reel.
How much would you like to spend on this new rod ? How big of baits will you be throwing? I have a Kistler kcbs7 which cost me $139 which is a good medium weight rod. I just got two new Rogues for lightweight use. I don't know if they make a crankbait rod though. If they do it will likely cost around $140 - $180. They make their own blanks and manufacture the rods here in the US. Look them up and give them a try, you wont be sorry.
Try the Loomis crankbait rods. TW has a nice selection. They have several lengths to suite your style of fishing. They are light and very sensative a bit more in terms of price but remember they have a great warranty if it breaks.
Thanks everyone I'll take all your options into account when I make my choice and I'll let you know what I get. I'm Thinking another St. Croix, We'll see.
