Daiwa Heartland 7'6" Heavy or Okuma 7'6" Medium Heavy swim bait rod? I'm going to start throwing some smaller swimbaits (<3 oz.), but I also plan to use for deeper diving (larger) crankbaits. Which rod would you choose? I plan on pairing it with a Abu Garcia Record RCN50. Thanks

If you want to double up for crankbaiting, I would actually lean toward the Okuma 7'11" MH. The 7'6" Okuma MH is a little bit stiff in the tip for crankbait fishing IMHO. The 7'11" cranks a DD22 or a Poes 400 nicely.
The Daiwa Heartland has a very glassy action, which is better for crankbaits but not as good for your swimbait stuff. The quality on the Heartland is not as good as the Okuma either, as reflected by the pricing. It's not a terrible rod or anything but I'd probably spend the extra $40 to get the Okuma.
