#4805, "CALFISHING FANTASY FISHING GROUP"

Last year I spoke to Rob about getting the guys in a Fantasy Fishing group. Rob said he was very busy and wanted to do it some other time. I recently spoke to Rob and have his blessing to get going on this. Fantasy fishing is picking a team from the elite anglers that fish BASS. Well starting a group was easier than I though, only a few clicks of the mouse so I set us up. Fantasy Fishing will do all the accounting for us, meaning after every tournament they will tally our scores and let us know our ranking. All you need to know is, it’s fun and it’s free. One more thing, to make it interesting I will build a custom wood bait, one of my original designs, for the winner, the winner of the main team not the individual tournaments (you will see what I mean when you sign up) Maybe we can get some other donations for the winner.

Here is the deal:

Go to the below site. I can’t help you guys sign up because the site recognizes my computer and bypasses the sign-ups. Maybe one of you guys that sign up can post some helpful hints after you sign. There are actually two different games (sign up for both). The first is the overall for the season. The second is each tournament. After you pick your team you can sign-up for our group. It is a private group so the password is necessary. If you are playing get it done as soon as you can because the first tournament is in a few days (the Classic). After you get your team picked go to calfishing@gmail.com leave your name and I will send you the password to become one of the group.

Our group is:
Cal Fishing

Our Motto is:
Swimbaits Rule

Thanks Henry

I set up a deal just now, it just takes 10 minute or so. If you already have a BASS login (which I did) you just search for the team on the first page, get the password from Henry and pop it in - then sign up your team.

You pick 5 guys (for the classic anyway) and their point value has to be less than 50 points. So you juggle a bit and come away with your team. I've never done fantasy anything but it's fishing so what the heck :)

Ok, I made my team earlier today, just need the password. Sent email earlier but haven't received the password yet. Makes it a little tuffer with the values on each guy. You are forced to go with some sleepers.

I'm not going any good. Most of my guys are not fishing today (Sunday) We will see where we stand in a few hours.

Rob

You have a good dartboard, you are leading after the first tournament. I’m near the bottom, Jake, your right above me. Anyone wanting to join the group still can but you would be a tournament behind.

Guys

There have been some questions regarding changing anglers. There are two parts to fantasy fishing.

First part (which is what we are playing) is your team for the year. You must have 5 anglers on your team. You can change your team, however the point rating changes. Anglers who are doing well cost more. I am locked in at 50 but the market for my team is 52, so right now, for example, if I wanted to pick the team I have I couldn’t because it is over 50 points, but once it is picked you can keep your team no mater how much it goes up in points. In my opinion you do not want to change your team every tournament. The person who came in first in the nation last year (a Northern Cal guy) did not change his team all year.

Second part is called “super 6 pick‘em.” You can click on this for a tournament-by-tournament variation. You can pick the anglers in the order you think they will come in each tournament. There is not any market value point involved. You can have a group with the super six however we do not.

Lake, last tournament you did not have 5 anglers. You need to correct that before the next tournament.

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PICKS MADE BEFORE 9:00 AM PACIFIC TIME THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT. WHICH FOR THE NEXT TOURNAMENT IS MARCH 6.
