Well guys I just got back from the school and did not make the meeting. I found the General manager outside his car talking to 1 of the Rangers and they said the board voted 3 - 2 to close the lake to outside boats. They also said the waiting list is 175 persons long to store your boat inside. As of tomorrow Casitas is closed. SUCKS TO BE A FISHERMEN IN VENTURA COUNTY, ESPECIALLY OAK VIEW Rich

Unreal! Me and my fishing partner take a trip every year for 1 week to fish Casitas. That lake is just awesome. I thought maybe things were getting better at Casitas. I was just there two weeks ago and had no problems. I was gritting my teeth for 300 miles but sailed right through the gate when I arrived at the lake. There was a lot of boats on the water so I thought things were blowing over. Supposed to go back in two weeks for a week, guess not.

Sorry about the awful news at Casitas and what I expect will take place with Cachuma. Also I just wanted to make it clear that the DVL closure for tomorrow has nothing to do with the Quagga mussels, but rather what appears to be a very unfortunate tragedy unless some good news pops up soon.
In terms of the Casitas and Cachuma closures it just seems that eventually they will be infected and then business will be back as usual with respect to fishing. It's going to be tough to deal with though in the meantime and I hope your Nor Cal lakes stay open Rob and Nor Cal crew. I feel really bad for some of these Casitas regulars right now. What a bummer. :-(
