I hit both lakes this past weekend with a couple of friend and it was tough. It seems that the previous cold nights from last week pull some of the scouting males down. We fish Casitas Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. We commited to the swimbait but no results. We heard of some people getting some fish DS in 25 to 35 ft. On Sunday the nicer day we also saw some skittish males approaching the shallows. At Cachuma one of my friends caught 2 on DS @40ft and one on the generic trout @ 3lb, otherwise it was tough. with the upcoming rains I dont see improvement, but March is always promising. At this point it looks like the very early stges of pre-spawn at htese lakes.
