Anyone know of any good ways to rig a stinger hook on a stocker trout? Please let me know.

I think SWMB8R is out of town, so I'll tell it. The way to rig the 9" bait is with a 2/0 treble. Take some 80lb wire and crimp it to the eye (where you tie your line on). Run it about 1.5". Crimp on the 2/0 treble. Put one prong of the treble in the belly of the bait. The hook will sit right where the "gills" of the bait come together. That's straight from the guys who make the bait. The 7" you don't have to trap rig. But it would be the same rig with a 1/0 treble if you did.

If you don't have crimpers, crimp or wire, you can use 80 pound braided line and rig like Rob said. The best way however is with the crimps.

Is it possible to place the hook towards the rear of the bait and use more line/wire or will that wreck the swimming action?

No need to do that and yes it will probably effect the action.
