Fished Eldo yesterday afternoon for one big zero. Even tried the south cove where ive been getting all of my fish and got tapped once but that was it. I also fished the back lake for nada. I never seem to have any luck mid day at Eldo. If SJ is reading this try fishing the south cove right before dark, just walk it back and forth, also pitch into all the open pockets off weeds you see. Last time i fished there i got three fish in 15 minutes and all were like a rods length and a half from shore. Theres a bench right at the North end of the south cove, during the spawn when the water was clearer me and Rudy whacked a bunch of big fish that werent visible and were further out during the spawn, on further inspection we discovered that there was a sharp break right there a few yards out, nothing too sharp but enough to hold some bigger fish. And thats the spot i got broken off last time. Try it out bro, but remember all my luck at this area of the lake has been in the late afternoon at dusk or early evening. stay on em!!!! laters

Thanks for the report. I was at Eldo on Saturday in the evening and didn't get squat. Missed one fish on a Rat-L-Trap at the north end of the small lake in area 3 and that was it. Threw some senkos, pop'r's and frogs for nada.

I'll try the spot you suggested the next time I'm out... When you say south cove, you're talking about the end of the lake closest to Wardlow - near the train rides, right?

The small lake is usually pretty good from either the west or east banks near the floats. I've caught fish all different times of day at that lake and usually fish there. I have a feeling the fish are deep right now and of course we can't get to them, especially in the small lake. There are also some big carp in that lake that you'll see hitting the surface from time to time (not my cup of tea).
