Good news. Received word last week that DFG Commission voted to send out the proposed Alameda Creek/Shadow Cliff regulation change for public notice. It is slated to be adopted at the December meeting.
PROPOSAL Allow catch and release fishing all year in Arroyo Del Valle between Bernal Avenue and the Thiessen Street intersection with Vineyard Avenue.
This does not mean it's a sure thing, but with DFG behind the proposal, the Commission is likely to adopt it. To give public comment, you can attend the DFG Commission meetings (either one) in Folsom, CA in November OR write about your support to the Commission at FGC@fgc.ca.gov. Details on the meetings are here at the bottom of the page:
http://www.fgc.ca.gov/meetings/2010/2010mtgs.asp
I am going to do what I can to be there and give comment.
If successful, the new fish regulations will be probably be effective around March 1, 2011.
Please write the commission and voice your support or contact me if you can come to the Folsom meetings in Nov.

If by some small chance you are in or around Santa Barbara and would be interested in giving public comment in favor of the proposed reg, it would be much appreciated.
