#16865, "anyone here ever run across an old military halftrack?"
hello i collect the old military halftracks 1940s from WW2 and was hoping to get some leads on where i can find more and since fishing gets you around to many different spots maby you can help. i hope you dont mind me posting this here . many halftracks ended up on farms and are usually in pretty rough shape. so if you have seen one sitting in some farmers field or even just parts i would be interested. im in northern California near Sacramento so the nearer the better. thanks for your help steelworkss@aol.com

Try the Knob Creek Machinegun Shoot held twice yearly in Louisville, KY. Lots of Class III and AFV collectors attend and show off their restored specimens (with working armament!). It's a fun show. There's also an AFV collector in the Los Altos Hills vicinity of the Bay Area--I forgot his name but he's got quite the collection. And then there's the Royal Tank Museum at Camp Bovington (about 2 1/2 hours by train from London)--I think they have their two Tiger I specimens fully restored and running now!
